Gusti Leder nature is our first in-house brand. It combines sustainable business practices in harmony with nature and people with a unique and, above all, sophisticated vintage design. For Gusti Leder nature, taking responsibility means consciously distancing itself from mass production and ensuring fair working conditions. Gusti Leder nature stands for a mindful approach to materials and quality and distinguishes itself from our second brand, Gusti Leder studio, through its traditional vegetable-tanning process.

The Bag's Journey
Our wonderful and, above all, unique products from the Gusti Leder nature collection are made primarily from Goat leather sourced from free-range goats in India. Small family-run businesses with no more than 15 employees then process the leather into our wonderful products in several steps. First, the leather is vegetable-tanned using a traditional method with tannins derived from the bark of the babool tree. The leather is then dyed and oiled, using only pure vegetable oils and completely avoiding the use of chromium salts.

Our Mission
Driven by our passion for the wonderful material that is leather, our goal is to create something unique under fair conditions. Our top priority is ensuring a livelihood for our producers and their families, as well as eliminating child labor. India is one of the countries where child labor is widespread, and many children under the age of 15 help support their families financially; however, our producers strictly prohibit child labor. For this reason, every production facility signs a contract. In addition, our CEO, Christian Pietsch, makes unannounced visits to the production facilities several times a year.
