The bicycle is a very popular mode of transportation, not only for daily commuting but also for leisure activities. For bike travelers who place a high value on flexibility and dynamism, the North American style of bikepacking offers an ideal approach. It’s not just switching from a touring bike to a gravel bike or mountain bike that allows you to explore new and different routes; the equipment you use makes a big difference. Instead of carrying everything on the rear rack, the weight is distributed across the entire bike. There are various setups that can be adapted depending on the length and type of trip. Particularly heavy items are packed into the frame bag to keep the center of gravity as low and close to the bike as possible. Lighter items are secured in a handlebar roll, and there’s a large saddle bag for any additional gear you need. For longer tours, there’s also the option of additional bike bags that attach to the lowrider. Thanks to the bags’ smaller volume, you’re lighter on the road and can tackle even ambitious tours.
